If you sense that God has more for your life, 21 Days of Prayer is a great place to start believe Him for all that He has for you. At the prayer services, you will put seeking God first into practice, and when you do this, He will start working on your behalf like never before. You will see a difference in your relationships, your work, your family and every area of your life. It is then that you will best be able to spread His love to others.
The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all the good things God desires to bring into our lives. Remember, your personal fast should present a level of challenge, but it is very important to know your body, your options, and, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.
1. Each day a new prayer topic will be given.
2. A sample prayer will be provided for people who are just starting their prayer journey.
3. Throughout our 21 day journey, we encourage everyone to Fast from something that is important to them. The reason for the fast is to pray about something during the time you are fasting that you are really seeking God about. (Many people fast from food, others from technology, or social media, or television, or caffeine. The list goes on and on…)
4. As God answers prayer, we get the opportunity to share with each other what He is doing in our lives. Feel free to post answered prayers to our Facebook Page at any time!
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Day 1: Prayer for family relationships to be strengthened.
"Dear God, I pray right now for each member of my family by name. (_____) that you would bless them with good health. That you would let them always know how much they are loved and cared for. Be with my family as we strive to grow closer together as a family. Keep Satan and his divisiveness away from us. Allow us to live our lives to bring honor and glory to you. Help us to encourage one another and be a help to one another. Help us to love each other as you have loved us. In Jesus name-Amen."
Day 2: Prayer for Friendships:
"God we ask you to bless our relationships with one another. Help us to love others the way that you have loved us. Help us to value each other and care for one another. Help us to be the best friend that we can possibly be to our friends. Help us to reach out to those who are lonely, and be a friend to those who feel they have no friends. Thank you for loving me and allowing me to have a relationship with You. In Jesus name, Amen."
Day 3: Prayer for Health:
“God, we ask that you bless us with good health, free from diseases that can harm us. We ask that you heal any and all physical ailments we might be dealing with and to be with those who are dealing with these things as well. We also ask for spiritual health, to keep us away from the things that can taint out spirit. Cleanse our spirits of anything that is not of You. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Day 4: Prayer for Guidance at the workplace:
"Dear God, I thank you so much for continually making a way to provide for my family. I am appreciative for the things I have and thankful that you have given me the skills I need to work and make a living. Help me to be an example to those I work with of what a relationship with Jesus is all about. Use me to draw others closer to You. I pray for those who are without work at this time, that you would have your hand of guidance over them and provide for them during their time of need. Help them to continue to put their trust in You at this time. I love you Jesus. Amen."
Day 5: Prayer for our community:
“God, we pray over our community and we ask that you show us how to Love Loud our community. Show us how to be your hands and heart extended to those who need it. We also ask that you would guide them to Revolution Church so we can show them we’re a church that loves and cares for them, so we can lead them to you and your forgiving, unconditional, and unfailing love. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Day 6: Prayer for wisdom:
“God, we ask that you would give us wisdom for the days ahead, because even though we don’t know what each day holds, we know who holds us up. Give us the wisdom to see the path you want us to take and the choices you want us to make. We acknowledge we don’t always have the answers which is why we need you Father. Lead and guide us according to your will. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Day 7: Prayer for Strength:
"Dear God, today I pray that You would give me the courage and the strength to pursue all that You have for me. I pray that I will do my best to follow You and help others follow You all the days of my life. My mission in life is to help other people find and follow Jesus. It is my desire to reach out to those who are hurting, help those in need, and love those around me. Help me each and every day to live my life in a way that pleases You. I know that the devil is angry with my prayer to You, and I ask that you remove temptation from me, keep Satan bound away from me, my family, and my life. Help me to not just pursue great things for You, but help me to "DO" great things for You. In Jesus name, Amen."
Day 8: Prayer for Marriages
“Dear God, I ask that you protect us in our marriage. We know that the devil has declared a war on families and many times it starts with the relationship between a husband and wife. I declare in the name of Jesus that the devil is not welcome in my home, in my relationship, or around my family. I pray that I would love my spouse the way that Christ loved the church and gave himself for it. Help me to not be selfish, but rather put my spouses needs before my own. Help us to grow together, and serve You together. Gift us with a strong and unbreakable marriage. We live to love and serve You Jesus. Amen.”
Day 9: Prayer for Police:
“Dear God, we pray over those who serve and protect us everyday. We ask you to protect and watch over them and their families and to bless them for their sacrifice. We also ask for you to watch over the families of those who have fallen in the line of duty. Give them peace and comfort during their time of grief and mourning. Thank you Father for allowing us to be born in a country where we have a police force that serves and protects the people. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Day 10: Prayer for our Government:
“Dear God, I pray right now for our Government system. I pray for our Judicial System, Federal Government, Supreme Court, and President. Help the people that are in charge of our country look back to you for guidance and leadership when it comes to making decisions that affect the lives of others. We pray for you to enter back into our school systems and play a big part in our successes as a country. We ask that you be with each citizen within the United States as we elect new city officials and eventually a new President. Give us wisdom on who we should vote for in the future. Help our country to turn back to You. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Day 11: Prayer for Forgiveness:
“God, we ask that you please forgive us of our sins. Please release us from the bondage of sin so we can become all that you’ve created us to be. Also help us to forgive those that have hurt us. Help us to release grudges that we hold so we can be forgiven by you for our sins. Help us to show grace and mercy to others as you did for us. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Day 12: Prayer for Praise:
“God, we come to you now just to give you praise and say thanks. We praise your name which is above all names, and thank you God for your love, grace, mercy and forgiveness. We praise you because you are good, holy, and righteous, and we thank you for holding us in the palm of your hands. We praise you and thank you for sending your Son to die on a cross in our place, when we know we didn’t deserve it. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Day 13: Prayer for our Students:
"Dear God, I ask you to work through our students in a powerful way this next year. Allow them to be the light that brings God back into our school system. May this be the year that they gain confidence in who they are. Allow them to learn the knowledge of what they need to learn as they grow as people. We also pray for the parents of these students, as they help with homework, and try to get their kids to all the activities that will be held this season. Allow parents to know which activities their kids should be involved in, and which ones to pass on. Allow parents to remain calm, and not get too overwhelmed with everything that they have to do. Above all, we pray that we won't get too consumed with things that don't matter and keep you first in all that we do in school and out of school. In Jesus name we pray these things-Amen."
Day 14: Prayer for those in Service:
“Dear God, I pray right now for those in service to their country. I lift up our Army, Navy, Airforce, all of our Military, Police Officers, Firefighters, and people who serve others on a daily basis to you Father. We are so appreciative for their willingness to risk their lives to keep others safe. Please be with them and have your hand of favor over their lives. Allow others in the community, including myself, to be a source of encouragement to them. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Day 15: Prayer for our Teachers:
“Dear God, I lift up all teachers to you right now. May our teachers be patient with the students and have the wisdom to provide them with all that they need. Give them the strength to make it through each and every day as they watch over their students, while also going home to take care of their own families. I ask that you bless them Father for choosing to raise up the next generation of leaders, government officials, pastors, missionaries, and other productive members of society. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Day 16: Prayer for Kids in the Foster Care System and Orphans:
"God, we ask you right now to be with children who are in the foster care system and orphans around the world. Help us to show love and compassion to them. Help them to realize how much they matter to us. Break our hearts for those that are hurting and need someone to be a light in this dark world. Help me to play my part in reaching out to them and realizing that they don't have the luxuries that most kids have.
I pray that you would be with me as I endeavor to raise a family to find and follow you. Help me to lead my children spiritually. Teach me your Word so that I can teach it to them, and see them pass it on to my grandchildren one day. We pray for kids all across the world and ask that you grant them peace in their hearts and the knowledge that they are loved by You and US. We ask all this in Jesus name, Amen."
Day 17: Prayer for Widows:
“Dear God, we lift up the widows to you right now. We pray over the families that were once whole but now have a hole where someone important once was. We ask that you show the widows that they may have lost a spouse, but they still have you. Give us the opportunity to love on these widows as well, to show them and their families they are still loved and cared for. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Day 18: Prayer for Racism:
“God, I pray for the spirit of hate to be eradicated in our society. Show us that we are all your creation and as such we should all love and care for each other as your children. Show us that you really do love each of us unconditionally, even those we don’t like for whatever reason, so we can understand there is no place for racism in the Christian heart. Help us to express your love to others unconditionally, so others will hopefully turn back to you. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Day 19: Prayer for World Issues:
“God, I pray over our world right now with all the disasters and terrorism currently taking place and ask for your guidance during these times. I ask that you be with those who have been affected by the different events that have taken place, like the tornadoes in the Dallas area and the terrorist attacks in France. Also show us how we can help, even if prayer is the only thing we can do.
I also come to you right now asking you to be with those who are currently suffering persecution for believing in You. I pray for them, as well as their families who are left without them. I likely will never have to sacrifice my life for believing in You. Help me to LIVE for you each and every day. Help me to become all that you have created me to be. I love you and am grateful to live in a country where I can freely proclaim to be Your follower. In Jesus name-Amen."
Day 20: Prayer for Unbelievers:
“Dear God, today I pray for those who don’t know you as their Lord, Leader, and CEO. I ask that you help me to be an example to them of what it looks like to have a relationship with You. Help me to be kind to others around me. Let me speak only what is right, and do unto others as I would want them to do unto me. Help me to be a living example of how YOU can change a life. Thank You for loving me. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Day 21: Prayer for Revolution Church:
"Dear God, I pray right now for Revolution Church to continue to be a light to this community. I pray that you would be with the leadership of Revolution Church. Give guidance, wisdom, and strength to the pastor. Help him to preach only Your Word. We ask that as the name of Jesus is lifted higher, that you would grow your people. Grow Revolution Church spiritually, numerically, financially, and relationally. Allow us to experience a move of God through the work of this ministry. Let us never lose focus that we exist to reach out to our community. To be the light to those who have yet to find You. Give us eyes to see what you see and a heart to do what you want us to do. We are grateful for the work you are doing through the people at this church. We are thankful for everyone who contributes and is involved in making this ministry possible. We pray over the different ministries in Revolution Church that you show us how to serve and minister to others through our specific area of ministry. In Jesus name, Amen."
